Deb, our wonderful Financial Controller, has just embarked on her exciting retirement and emailed us all to say goodbye, reflecting on her working life. With her kind permission, she is happy for us to share her thoughts with all of you in our latest blog.

Dear Colleagues,

Reaching the end of my working career, and looking forward to exciting future adventures, has led me to look back at the various jobs I’ve had and the people I’ve met along the way. From way back before working in finance, my work in the world of music still holds many great memories for me and I’m still in touch with good friends from those years. My career in investment banking in London, though obviously rewarding in many ways, was rather less motivating and inspiring!

As I now reflect on my final role as Finance Manager at kdm communications, I can honestly say I’ve never known an employer more generous, thoughtful, and flexible, and so good at combining high quality professional standards with such a relaxed and supportive ethos. In my experience, few employers take such trouble to look after their staff and to encourage them to feel good about their working day and achieving their goals. Fun training days, summer parties, kind gestures such as birthday and Christmas gifts, and incentive gift vouchers for those who go “Above and Beyond”, are all examples of how fortunate my (soon to be ex-) colleagues are to be working here. Believe me, the world of work doesn’t get much better!

I will miss being here and your company and want to wish you all the very best for the future.

Deb (aka “The Duck Whisperer”)
