At kdm communications since 2025
Enthusiastic in pursuit of science

Growing up between New York and London, Ashton developed a fascination with the natural world that was fuelled by nature documentaries, science journals and an endless curiosity about how biology shapes everyday life. This passion led him to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College, where he was especially captivated by molecular biology and genetics.

His experience working in the lab working on projects ranged from cell culture and protein expression to experimental design and data analysis, including a research project on MBOAT7’s effect on the arachidonic acid pathway and a literature review on genetic influence in Parkinson’s disease. It’s here that he learned the value of perseverance and the importance of “dotting your I’s and crossing your T’s”, after lots and lots of trial and error.

Ashton joined kdm communications in 2025, thrilled to combine his enthusiasm for life sciences with his love of connecting with new interesting people. He enjoys exploring fresh topics, learning from experts across a range of scientific fields, and transforming complex ideas into stories that resonate with the audience. His creative flair and scientific curiosity make him feel right at home with the kdm team.

When he’s not writing, Ashton enjoys making music with friends, playing basketball and reading in the park with his dog.
