Technical writing for life sciences
At kdm, we have an in-house team of 10 technical writers (many of whom have PhDs) that work closely with our clients to develop tailored, relevant and useful content for their target markets across the scientific, healthcare and technical industries.
We cover everything from app notes and white papers to web pages and brochure copy – you name it, we do it! Many years of combined writing experience mean you can rest assured that our writers will understand your products and services. Whether it’s oncology, proteomics or microscopy, we are confident that we can deliver your message to your key personas.
Our approach step by step
1. Listen: a great brief will result in great content
Our technical writers love nothing more than a good brief, and will ask all the right questions to tease out the details you need them to focus on. We’ll cover key messages, benefits, target audiences, timings, length, tone and style, as well as make sure we’ve got some good background or reference materials to work from. And if you or your colleagues don’t have all the answers, we will roll up our sleeves and dig into the recently published research to fill in the blanks.
2. Think: we love to use our brains!
With literally dozens of degrees between the team here at kdm, we have a large amount of brain power – and we love to use it! Although we have most scientific and healthcare disciplines covered, we do occasionally find ourselves in an unfamiliar area of science but, because we are adept at picking up new concepts, we’ll be firing on all cylinders and up to speed very quickly.
3. Do: high quality written scientific content is a hallmark of kdm
Our technical writing team will take your brief and transform it into well-researched and well-written content for your target audience. We have a rigorous internal system to double check anything we do, so you can be confident that we have dotted the ‘i’s and crossed the ‘t’s. Whether we’re working on a highly technical ebook, or a series of social media posts to support a campaign, you’ll be in good hands and enjoy working with an agency that delivers excellent content, on time and on budget.
4. Review: let’s keep learning!
The more we write for you, the more we get to know not only your products and services, but also your culture, your style and tone, and your colleagues! kdm has worked with many of its clients for well over a decade, which is a testament to our ethos of continuously learning and fostering excellent client relationships. Not everything we do is plain sailing but, as long as we can reflect and learn from each project, we are confident that we will be in the best position to continue to support you with written technical content.
