Bringing stories to life

We love putting our creative side to work, blending this with cutting-edge scientific understanding to bring stories to life.

From filming in operating theatres to creating 3D molecular animations or a multilingual podcast series, we turn complex topics into compelling stories that connect. If you want scientific storytelling with impact, you’re in the right place.

Our approach step by step

1. Listen: a good brief means we get it right first time (you want to with video as it’s a significant investment!)

Every successful project starts with a good brief. We take the time to understand your objectives, your audience, and the technical detail that matters. Whether it’s a product explainer video, customer story or training video, our team will listen and ask questions to ensure we get it right.

2. Think: a thorough approach to pre-production (over-preparedness is best!)

e don’t just hit ‘record.’ We work out the most effective way to communicate your message – visually, audibly, and emotionally. From scripting and storyboarding to planning multilingual voiceovers, we consider tone, audience, accessibility and format (and agree it all with you!) before production begins.

3. Do: great direction makes for great video content

Our in-house scientific video production team brings ideas to life – whether we’re filming in an ambulance, animating a diagnostic assay, or recording a podcast with KOLs. We handle production, voice direction, subtitling and editing in house, so everything runs smoothly.

4. Review: we always build in time for amends

Feedback is built into every stage. We use platforms like Vimeo for collaborative review, and can quickly adapt edits to suit evolving needs or translations. And once it’s a wrap, there is still work to do: we track performance and look at how your prospective customers interact with your creations, so that you know your investment is working – whether it’s increasing engagement, reach or impact.

And.. action!

Do you have a drone?2025-08-14T12:12:49+01:00

Yes!

How much say do your clients have in the editing process?2025-08-14T12:12:30+01:00

We edit everything we film ourselves using Final Cut Pro, and use Vimeo to preview and tweak. This gives our clients as much interaction with the project as they’d like – including direct contact with the editing team – and peace of mind that we are all up to speed with the brief and the final output. It also means we can turn things around pretty quickly if needed.

What about incorporating some of our existing video footage?2025-08-14T12:12:09+01:00

We are happy to review and include existing footage into our video production. We often incorporate library footage and 3D models as well. In our opinion, AI-created video imagery certainly has a place, and can be integrated into video production like any other form of footage. Our editors are good at adapting to whatever we throw at them!

Do you only produce scientific videos, podcasts and animations in English?2025-08-14T12:11:50+01:00

The short answer is no!

Many of our marketing videos are shot and edited in local languages. Some are then subtitled into additional languages for wider distribution. Animations often simply incorporate words and music, while others use voice-overs. We will frequently create several language versions of the same scientific videos for our multinational clients, as we understand how important it is to make video content as accessible as possible for your target audiences.

Do your film makers understand the science?2025-08-14T12:11:23+01:00

Because our film unit is in house, we work very closely with our scientific writing and account management teams to make sure we have a full brief. We start by creating a storyboard for each project then, when we are interviewing our clients’ customers, we have a pre-approved question guide at the ready. These usually focus on product benefits, but can get quite technical, so we make sure that interviewers are clued up on the relevant science in advance. We can also write full scripts if necessary, and use autocue software to prompt interviewees if this puts them more at ease. So yes, we do understand the science, and it’s never dumbed down. But we also make sure that it’s communicated in a succinct way that engages with our clients’ target audiences.
