Proofreading is quite like goal-keeping, you can make some great saves highlighting those potential errors, but once in a while one can slip through the net. Below we have three top tips for proof reading, mixed in with some errors – so you can learn and practice at the same time! See if you can spot them all:
Use diferent media
Its easy to glaze over reading the same piece on the computer. Why not print it out, or get it up on your tablet to read in a different room or space in the office? It will help to refresh your brain and pick up on more of those costly mistakes
Grab a colleague
two sets of eyes are always better.If you can, have another person to re-read the work. As above, it’s all about getting a frsh pair of eye to look over the work.
Read Out Loud
It’s easy for the human mind to read a sentence how it should make sense, instead of what it actually says. By reading out-loud, you can pick up on those pesky erorrs and eliminate them from you’re work.
